63 Ring Rd in Plympton - Sold!
This home was originally of the five one room schoolhouses in Plympton in 1800s that was then moved to this site in 1945 and added on to in the 1950s. It is a picturesque spot across from cranberry bogs and next to the Cato's ridge conservation land! This home includes 2.7 acres, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. This house has new everything from plumbing and insulation to windows and boiler. We saved as much as we could including some of the kitchen cabinets, the built in hutch in dining room and the wainscoting in the living room. The wood work in this house would have been milled by the Dennett family on ring road -who owned 200 acres and several homes in the area in the 1940s. This house served as John Dennett's home when he came back from WW II and then the Grice Family and finally Captain Bullard who was a ship pilot from the 1970s to 2018. We love the details in the stone chimney and woodwork throughout this house. We added two custom bathrooms, added a cathedral ceiling in dining room, skylights in upstairs bedrooms, custom cabinets in kitchen, new steam radiators, painted custom cement in four season room, new windows throughout the sunny four season room, etc... There is a custom sink salvaged from a 1800s home in Hull in both bathrooms - marble in the master!! We added a 1800s hand hewn barn beam on the mantle, new stone work on the fireplace and sanded all the wood work in living room to highlight the craftsmanship throughout the home! The new front entry way added a small amount of square footage to the house and makes for a great mudroom area for those snowy winter days or after gardening in the summer. The board and batten porch carries into the master bedroom ceiling. First floor master bedroom, Walk-in closet and master ensuite were added by reconfiguring the existing footprint. We hope you enjoy these before and after photos of this home - the Dennett Schoolhouse circa 1800 !!! |
